This Year's Model Updates:

To celebrate 20 years of building minivans, Dodge will offer an Anniversary Edition package for the Grand Caravan with such features as chrome wheels, two-tone leather upholstery, embroidered floor mats and an in-dash CD/DVD changer paired with a rear entertainment system. Additionally, the company has simplified the trim level structure this year, so that buyers need only choose a base SE, a midlevel EX or a top-of-the-line SXT. The Grand Caravan also gets a tire-pressure monitor, upgraded audio systems and a new integrated key/remote.

Pros:
  • Excellent ride and handling characteristics, good low-end pull from 3.8-liter V6, roomy cabin, comfortable seats.
Cons:
  • No fold-flat third-row seat, unimpressive reliability history, subpar frontal offset crash test score, low resale value.

  • Great Van - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

I am driving les as I have gotten older, however the comfort of this van is just great. I have had no problems, and the mileage is superior. When I first get in the van I know I am not going to have any operating problems. And I cant wait to start the engine and take off to do errands or visit friends. This my second new van and Chrysler has a winner. In the summer, plenty of air conditioning and lots of heat in the winter. The nice thing is, passengers can enjoy these features when they are in the back seat.

Very stylish, handles well in snow & ice. Has great gas milage, and a peppy motor(3.8). Rides smooth and quite.

  • Love It!!! - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

We rented different vehicles so we could drive them for extended trips before we bought our new Grand Caravan. The anniversary edition gave us lots of extras and although I wouldnt have chosen the leather initially, I do enjoy the way it feels. The kids love the video screen and I love the way they ride quietly without asking "are we there yet?" It drives beautifully and everything is laid out so it falls easily to hand. The v-6 engine provides plenty of power and it tows the boat without struggling. I am very happy with my new Dodge and would highly recommend it.

  • My Red Van - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

I have driven this van from Phoenix to LA, Vegas severial times, I have never been tired when I got to where I was going, when I made the same trip with a car I was always tired, almost like jet lag. I do feel that this van is very comfortable, and most of all I do feel safe in it. This is my second new one.

I am very pleased to date with our Caravan. The DVD system with the remote headphones is a blessing on long drives. Had one problem with the drivers side window, dealership replaced a voltage regulator. Gas mileage is not quite getting what I had hoped, about 17-19 MPG.

This vehicle is great. We got a tremendous deal on it. This is our second Dodge and we plan to have more. Handles great, looks great, the 6 cyl has great pickup, i was surprised. Plenty of extras for a low price.

  • 3RD GRAND CARAVAN - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan
    By -

This is our 4th caravan. The last three have been Grand Caravans. The latest SXT has a 3.8L engine and has greatly improved its performance. It appears to be much quiter. The 16 inch wheels have improved the ride and handling. And this is the only Minivan that can be equipped with a handicap scotter hoist mounted in the back, because of all other models have fold down seats. I base an excellent rating on my years of Minivan experience. The only con- While the seats are well padded my spouse with back trouble has made a comment about the lack of good lower back support.

  • Lots of Fun - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

First Grand Caravan purchase was in 1996 new. Then Expedition EB SUV. Now back to Grand Caravan. 3 kids age 6, 8, 10 makes quick easy access. All Pwr. doors and liftgate easy to use and safe too. Can park in garage now without worry of 2nd car getting dinged up from kids opening doors to wide. Test drove the 04 Sienna but were sticker shocked at nearly $7,000 higher price. Bought the Grand Caravan and used the $7,000 savings on a 7 night family disney cruise to the Carribean. We got it all!

  • Great Van BUT... - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan
    By -

I really love this van and until two months ago would have recommended it to anyone. My van is the ultimate road-trip vehicle but in two months, has been in the dealership for repairs to the ENGINE twice! I think for the money its a great vehicle, even though it doesnt have as much interior room as the new Hondas and Toyotas but Im wondering how long its going to last. As a high mileage driver, Im feeling like it isnt made well enough to stand up to the pressure. Also, Dodge could have used decent quality trim materials inside but again, for the price its a fantastic van. Still worried about the engine and its "issues".
